Ezara Gutierrez, DO, is a board-certified family medicine physician at Babcock Health and Wellness Clinic in San Antonio, Texas, whose passion is rooted in preventive medicine and primary care.
Dr. Gutierrez grew up here in San Antonio, Texas, and it was always her dream to return to her hometown after traveling and to serve her community. Dr. Gutierrez is a proud graduate of Incarnate Word High School in San Antonio. She then went off to earn her Bachelor of Science from Loyola University Chicago, where she met her husband. While in Chicago, she became an EMT and learned from patients and their experiences while working on an ambulance and in emergency departments. She then attended medical school in Virginia and graduated from Virginia College of Osteopathic Medicine, where she was taught to treat the whole person. During her early medical training, she discovered her love for primary care and building patient relationships.
Dr. Gutierrez then came back home and continued her medical training in a community-based family medicine residency program at Christus Santa Rosa Health System in San Antonio, where she was trained to be a full scope family physician caring for all age groups. While there, she was honored with the William Osler Award, which recognizes excellence in bedside manner and the promotion of a strong physician-patient relationship. During her residency training, she was also awarded the Heart for Service award twice for medical service to her community. Dr. Gutierrez intends to continue her service to the community while in private practice.
Dr. Gutierrez is certified by the American Board of Family Medicine and is a diplomate. When she’s not caring for patients and working on building lasting patient-doctor relationships, she loves to spend time with her family, eat delicious San Antonio Mexican food, read, and participate in local activities.
